About the Event
This working session brings together staffers from the state and federal levels in both the executive and legislative branches, along with researchers and on-the-ground paid leave implementers and experts. Our goal is to provide a forum for surfacing lessons learned about how policy design affects implementation and data accessibility for policy oversight and refinement.
The session will include a welcome address, panel discussions, collaborative table discussions, group reflections, and a networking reception. We aim to foster meaningful dialogue, trust-building, and collaborative problem-solving among attendees.
We are working to bring together a diverse group of participants for a broad discussion designed to:
Build relationships and trust among key stakeholders
Identify and share data-related challenges and successes in state-level implementations of paid leave
Draw lessons for federal policymakers from state experiences
Develop strategies for improving data comparability across states
This event is hosted by Georgetown’s Massive Data Institute and POPVOX Foundation in partnership with the New Practice Lab at New America, and sponsored by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Healthy Communities Initiative. Learn more.
A reception will follow at 4 PM at Georgetown Tech & Society (500 First Street NW, Washington, DC).
About the Inter-Branch Exchange
The Inter-Branch Exchange facilitates dialogue between the legislative and executive branches, allowing policy implementers to share on-ground challenges with decision-makers. This promotes effective policy-making and robust interbranch collaborations.
