POPVOX Foundation welcomes Alero Simon
POPVOX Foundation is honored to welcome new intern Alero Simon.
Alero is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Chicago. Before starting graduate school, she served for two years in AmeriCorps and was an NYC Service Fellow in the New York City Mayor’s Office. Prior to joining POPVOX Foundation, Alero interned with the Chicago Mayor’s Office and the US Government Accountability Office, focusing on process improvement and program evaluation. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in International Studies from Louisiana State University.

Developing resources for offices and constituents to navigate the return of Congressionally Directed Spending (aka “earmarks”) to prioritize transparency and citizen engagement
Launching the Casework Navigator program to support Congressional casework staff and move casework into the 21st century
Hosting an orientation for new Members of Congress focused on Tech, Science, and Data tools for effective legislating
Development of a “CivX” metrics toolkit for governments to measure the civic experience of constituent interactions
Participation as a founding member of the CapitolStrong and First Branch Intern Project civil society networks
